The RCVS is inviting practice teams to a free in-person veterinary CPD event in Leeds exploring the future role of the veterinary nurse within team-based care.
Titled “A vision or a necessity? Strengthening the role of veterinary nurses in team-based veterinary healthcare”, the session forms part of the College’s ongoing VN Vision work examining how nursing skills can be better utilised across the profession.
The event takes place on Tuesday 10 March 2026, 6.15pm–9.30pm at The College of Animal Welfare, Capitol Park, Tingley, Leeds.
What to expect
Rather than a lecture format, the evening will involve structured group discussions. Attendees will be asked to consider:
- What a strengthened veterinary nursing role should look like in practice
- What practical steps are needed to achieve this
- How progress could be measured and communicated
The event is open to the whole practice team, including veterinary nurses, vets, managers, directors and support staff, with the aim of gathering a broad range of perspectives.
Places are free, with booking available via the official RCVS event registration page.
