The veterinary paraprofessional certificate
Veterinary paraprofessionals are those working primarily in a nursing role with no formal nurse qualifications. To support these important practice members, we also offer a veterinary paraprofessional certificate (VPPCert), accredited by ISVPS.
Am I eligible for an NCert or VPPCert?
To study for the NCert, you must be able to provide your RCVS registration number. For the VPPCert, eligibility varies – there’s more information in the individual course options.
Working towards a veterinary nurse certificate
Our veterinary nurse certificate programmes/veterinary paraprofessional programmes take 1-2 years. Practical and classroom-based sessions are usually held in 2 day blocks every couple of months to ensure they’re as convenient as possible. For more information about the module dates and requirements, see the individual programmes below.
Once you’ve completed the training, you’ll be eligible for the assessments. These are held entirely online and on successful completion, you’ll earn the Nurse Certficate (NCert) or Veterinary Paraprofessional Certificate (VPPCert).
