Focus 20 Programmes are a selection of shorter, accredited, relevant and accessible modular veterinary CPD courses, designed to help you in everyday clinical practice and support the whole veterinary team. Each Focus 20 course provides 40 hours of CPD for vets.
These CPD courses are suitable for those who already have postgraduate certificates, as they delve into a narrow area of study very deeply. They’re also suitable for vets taking their first steps in postgraduate study, helping you learn study skills and adapt your learning around your busy schedules. Either way, Focus 20 programmes will help you develop your skills in your chosen subject, and tackle different cases with greater confidence.

Why choose a Focus 20 programme?
We built Focus 20 programmes to allow modular CPD training for veterinarians, allowing them to customise their CPD, build credits towards academic qualifications, and other benefits which include:
ISVPS Foundation Certificate (FCert): Suitable if you have gained an ISVPS General Practitioner Certificate (GPCert), Postgraduate Certificate (PgC) or ISVPS Nurse Certificate (NCert) as it provides a more detailed insight into subjects that may have been studied as part of a modular programme previously. It is also relevant to those vets and nurses looking for a stand-alone update in a chosen area of interest.
40 hours of CPD for vets: Whether you choose online CPD, face-to-face practical CPD, or blended (a mixture of the two), you’ll get 40 hours of CPD.
Different learning styles: Online learning uses blended media, from interactive online lessons and videos, webinars and “knowledge” checks, while face-to-face programmes are held in our leading training facilities – both make fantastic CPD for vets.
CPD developed by leading experts: We have selected the very best experts to help develop the content and structure of the Focus 20 programmes.
RCVS knowledge access: The RCVS Knowledge library includes access to a wealth of electronic resources, including the latest journals and clinical research.

How they work:
You will receive access via an email to your course
Once you have logged in you will see the course you have booked
Complete the weekly lessons for each module spanning 1 month (there are approximately 5 modules in total running over 5 months (some courses may differ))
Complete the assessment which involves a critical appraisal of a peer-reviewed journal article
