BVNA has carefully developed a packed schedule, with veterinary nursing at the top of the agenda. Whether your career has taken you to working with equine or exotic patients, into first opinion or referral practice – there will be twenty lecture streams with expert speakers providing exceptional learning opportunities for all.

What’s more, our programme is inclusive – whatever your job role, clinical or non-clinical, you’ll be made to feel welcome at all of the lectures across the event.

Speaking on the BVNA Congress 2025 theme of "Progression", the keynote lecture will be given by Helen Ballantyne on Saturday 11 October. Helen is a renowned dual-qualified medical and veterinary nurse, currently working as a transplant coordinator for the NHS. With a rare perspective from both veterinary and human-centred nursing, this inspirational session will highlight both the progress and significant future potential of the VN profession.

Looking for CPD for your role as an SQP/RAMA? Find everything you need under one roof – with 30 lectures also providing AMTRA accredited CPD points. You can view the programme here.

Tackling the key issues impacting the VN profession

BVNA is currently championing the VN voice in ongoing national level discussions surrounding veterinary legislation and industry. They will be hosting "In Conversation" debates on these hot topics, such as reform of the Veterinary Surgeons Act, and the Competition and Markets Authority investigation. Discover the opportunities available to advance your profession, and how you can use your voice to drive progress.

Interactive learning

Alongside a packed lecture programme, BVNA Congress is also the place to be for hands-on, small group and collaborative learning. This year’s hands-on workshops include:

  • Practical application of wound dressings
  • Suturing skills
  • Interactive CPR
  • Preventing wound infections and AMR

VNJ Live

Following the recent digital transformation of BVNA’s membership publication, the Veterinary Nursing Journal (VNJ), this year’s BVNA Congress will welcome the VNJ in a new live format for the very first time.

An interactive and friendly discussion session taking place on Saturday 11 October, potential future researchers, authors and speakers will present their ideas and showcase their work.

Exhibition and practical zone

Drop into the exhibition’s new practical zone, for even more immersive learning – dive into practical imaging and test your knowledge with ultrasound, x-ray and endoscopy; or build your confidence with microscope skills. For SVNs, there are OSCE stations for some all-important exam preparation.

BVNA members receive a special discounted rate; non-members receive a year’s BVNA digital membership included. For more information and to register, visit the BVNA website.
