This summer, VetLed and Vet Empowered will come together to host Veterinary Human Factors Live 2026 at The Studio, Birmingham. Today, they've released details of their inspiring Keynote Speaker. Dr Chris Turner, from Civility Saves Lives (and popular keynote from VetLed’s 2023 Veterinary Human Factors Conference) is returning for this long-awaited in-person event. More information - and ticket booking details! - below.

“Chris will name the moment, raise the bar, and invite all of us into the kind of action that lasts”

Dr Katie Ford, Co-Founder at Vet Empowered

The organisers are excited to have Chris Turner involved - and not just for a standard, standalone keynote session to start the day or round things off. Instead, Chris will bookend the programme with his two sessions and stay throughout the day to add his thoughts, pose questions, and share insights. Other speakers you can look forward to include Rebecca Stephens, Katie Gray, Dr Nieky Van Veggel, and Dr Sally Goldspink.

This is an in-person event dedicated to connection, collaboration, and meaningful change, taking place on Friday 26th June 2026 at The Studio in Birmingham. While the full day plan is still to come, the organisers emphasise that this won’t be a day of sitting quietly in rows. Instead, it will be a space for connection, curiosity, and conversations that shape the future of the profession.

There is a growing sense of momentum within the profession, and a quietly powerful shift rooted in the belief that progress is possible when people come together. This event is designed to harness that energy.

A partnership with purpose

For the first time, VetLed and Vet Empowered are joining forces under a shared message: Collaboration for Collective Change. While some might see their overlapping missions as competition, they are choosing a different narrative that models the very behaviours they hope to inspire across the profession.

“When passionate people come together around a shared purpose, the impact reaches far beyond what any one voice could achieve alone.”

Claire Grigson, Co-Founder at Vet Empowered

A human-centred day of connection

Unlike traditional conferences, Veterinary Human Factors Live is intentionally intimate. The venue has been chosen to create a spacious yet intimate, welcoming, and inclusive environment that encourages conversation, facilitates participation at a level that feels comfortable to the individual, and ensures all community voices are heard. Attendees can expect a day shaped around:

  • Collaboration with ourselves - understanding our own patterns, pressures, and strengths
  • Collaboration within teams - building cultures where people feel safe to speak up, learn, and be human
  • Collaboration with clients - moving beyond “them and us” and towards shared goals
  • Collaboration across the profession - learning from the diverse professionals who work alongside us

Tickets for the conference go on sale on the 2nd February 2026, with an early bird price of just £150+VAT. The conference numbers are intentionally limited to maintain connection and a human atmosphere.

An Invitation to the Profession

Veterinary Human Factors Live is not a day of clinical lectures, bustling crowds, jam-packed schedules, and overwhelm. It’s a gathering for those who care about the people behind the profession.

If you’re passionate about shaping the future - for yourself, your team, your clients, and the wider profession - this is your invitation to be part of something meaningful.

A milestone moment

For VetLed, this event marks a significant shift. After hosting the annual Veterinary Human Factors Conference online since 2021, the team has listened to repeated calls for in-person connection. Veterinary Human Factors Live 2026 is the long-awaited answer to that request.

“We’ve heard time and again how much people value being in the same room, and this year, we finally get to bring that to life!”

Dr Hannah Godfrey, Client Relationship Lead, VetLed
