Running from 20–24 October 2025, GPAW returns for its fifth year with the theme Comfort, Care, Companionship, underlining the importance of stress management in promoting guinea pig health and well-being.

The 2025 packs have been refreshed following last year’s campaign feedback and are designed to be more practical and shareable. They include:

  • Posters and point-of-sale materials for practices and retail spaces
  • Easy-to-use guides covering stress, care, and companionship, linked to the five welfare needs
  • Myth-busting facts to support client education
  • Activity sheets and digital content to drive family engagement
  • Social media assets ready to post across business and practice channels

New for this year, the GPAW Gazette, an educational newspaper for veterinary waiting rooms – provides a physical, client-friendly resource filled with expert tips and welfare advice.

Dr Suzanne Moyes, deputy managing director and in-house vet at Burgess Pet Care, said: “This Guinea Pig Awareness Week, we’re equipping professionals with practical resources to engage clients and customers while dispelling common myths and showcasing what good husbandry looks like.

“The updated packs focus on the five key pillars of welfare, including diet, housing, companionship, handling and enrichment. The easy-to-use tools will support conversations around care in-store, in consultations, and within rescue environments.

“Even small adjustments in care can make a significant difference to guinea pigs’ health and wellbeing, and these resources will play a key role in driving these standards forward.”
