Oncology CPD for vets

General Practitioner Certificate (GPCert) in Small Animal Oncology

For those who want to study for a certificate in veterinary oncology, we have this fantastic postgraduate certificate programme. It’s held entirely online, meaning you can work from home and to your own timescales as you complete the 12 modules that cover everything from basic cancer biology to the ins and outs of certain cancer types we see in pets. Delegates on this course have the option of taking the assessments for the GPCert in Oncology from ISVPS, resulting in a globally recognised postgraduate certificate and the postnominals that go with it.

Find out more about the GPCert in Small Animal Oncology starting in April 2026. Or, find out more about what it's like to study an online oncology certificate with this delegate story.

General Practitioner Certificate (GPCert) in Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery

While not strictly an oncology course, it’s worth us mentioning this veterinary postgraduate certificate programme, which has a dedicated surgical oncology module and surgical practical day. The 20 modules are split between online learning and 10 practical days - more than any other surgery certificate in the UK. Not only that, but the online teaching is split into short videos and contains many of our new interactive 'Active Learning Activities' to help you learn and recall the lesson content.

For Veterinary Nurses/Paraprofessionals

Nurse Certificate (NCert) or Veterinary Paraprofessional Certificate (VPPCert) in Medical Nursing

While not strictly an oncology certificate, this 8-module online certificate course has a dedicated oncology nursing module. You’ll cover the diagnosis, treatment, and holistic care of pets with cancer, making this the perfect CPD for veterinary nurses with a high oncological case load. At the end of the course, delegates have the option of taking the assessments to achieve the ISVPS NCert (or VPPCert, if you’re a paraprofessional) - a highly respected veterinary nursing certificate that’s recognised all over the world.

We're next accepting an intake in July 2026, so find out more about the Nurse Certificate in Medical Nursing now!
