Veterinary Nurse Awarded Free Place on Improve International New Transfusion Medicine Online Learning Programme
We are delighted to award veterinary nurse, Kate Elshaw, a place on our brand-new Transfusion Medicine Online Learning programme as part of a prize draw at the recent BSAVA event in March.
This unique programme comprises of eight modules which covers key transfusion medicine topics over a period of 15 months, starting in July 2022. Each module contains six lessons and two reflective studies sessions for delegates to work through at their own pace so their learning can fit easily around busy practice life. Additional training in study skills and revision materials are also offered during the months between modules to support delegates’ learning journey throughout the programme. At the end of the training programme, a globally recognised Nurse Certificate (NCert) accredited by the International School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies (ISVPS) will be awarded.
We are excited to be working with Pet Blood Bank UK, a trusted supplier of blood for pets which also aims to advance blood banking and transfusion medicine for pets across the country. Throughout February, staff at Improve International came together to support this charity in a 1,106-mile virtual fundraising challenge as part of this exciting collaboration.
In response to her win, Kate said: “I am very excited about winning a place on the Improve International Transfusion Medicine course. As a new out-of-hours [staff member] is now operating on the same premises as my day practice, transfusion medicine is something we will be involved with more, so I am thrilled to do this in-depth course.”
