Nutravet has announced the launch of Nutraplaque purée, a new “licki” purée format designed to support daily oral hygiene in cats, helping to control plaque, soften tartar and freshen breath. The company says the format is intended to improve compliance by making administration stress-free for owners.
The launch coincides with Pet Dental Health Month, highlighting oral care at every life stage. Nutravet notes dental disease remains common in both species, with around 70% of cats and 80% of dogs showing signs of dental disease by three years of age.
Nutravet says Nutraplaque purée tackles oral health “systemically”, meaning it is intended to work throughout the body rather than only acting on the tooth surface. The formulation includes North Atlantic seaweed (Ascophyllum nodosum). Nutravet states the ingredient is supported by published clinical studies, with research reporting reductions of up to 35% in plaque accumulation over four weeks and 30–40% in calculus formation over periods of consistent daily use.
The purée is designed to be highly palatable, encouraging cats to lick voluntarily. Nutravet suggests it can be given once daily, either with food or as enrichment (for example, squeezed onto a licki mat). The company adds that, alongside tooth brushing, users typically see improvements in plaque, tartar and bad breath within 3 to 8 weeks of continuous use.
Nutraplaque purée is now available for authorised stockists to order.
