O programa de Certificação Avançada em Anestesia foi concebido para enfermeiros veterinários que pretendem aprofundar os seus conhecimentos na área da anestesia. Estruturado em torno de desafios da vida real e dos mais recentes conhecimentos clínicos, o curso combina a resolução de problemas, a aprendizagem baseada em evidências e a orientação colaborativa, para lhe proporcionar as competências necessárias para uma gestão anestésica mais segura e eficaz.
Através de módulos interativos online e de sessões mensais de orientação, irá integrar uma comunidade de profissionais de anestesia, adquirindo a confiança e a competência necessárias para lidar com casos complexos e otimizar os resultados dos doentes.
O que irá aprender:
- Gestão respiratória avançada - incluindo estratégias de ventilação, espirometria e análise de gases sanguíneos, com orientações práticas sobre a seleção e configuração da IPPV.
- O impacto da anestesia nos resultados dos doentes - explore as ligações entre os protocolos de anestesia e as infeções do local cirúrgico, fatores ambientais e considerações oncológicas.
- Competências não técnicas e ética - domine o consentimento informado, a comunicação de riscos, a manutenção de registos e a tomada de decisões éticas na prática da anestesia.
- Gestão de doentes de alto risco - enfrentar os desafios anestésicos em doentes obesos, com doenças cardiovasculares e em casos complexos.
- Prevenção de complicações - compreender riscos como lesões da córnea, bloqueio neuromuscular e o reflexo oculocardíaco, aplicando eficazmente as diretrizes de anestesia da AAHA.
Compreensão dos pré-requisitos
Embora não seja exigido qualquer pré-requisito para ingressar no Certificado Avançado de Enfermagem e obter a qualificação ISVPS associada, recomenda-se vivamente que os participantes que pretendam inscrever-se no programa:
- Tenham obtido previamente um Certificado Nacional (NCert) da ISVPS em Enfermagem de Anestesia (ou o seu equivalente académico) *, ou
- Tenham mais de 5 anos de experiência na prática geral como enfermeiro veterinário. Para que se sinta confiante nos seus conhecimentos sobre procedimentos cirúrgicos comuns e tenha uma noção dos recursos disponíveis a partir dos quais se possa realizar investigação adicional sobre condições e/ou situações mais invulgares. Espera-se que tenha uma compreensão da anatomia e fisiologia normais e de como estas influenciam a patogénese e o tratamento cirúrgico de várias condições.
Mentoria
O curso promove o estabelecimento de ligações no seio da comunidade de anestesia veterinária. Esta oportunidade de networking pode conduzir à troca de ideias, experiências e relações profissionais valiosas. (Note-se que um componente fundamental do programa é o objetivo de estabelecer ligações no seio da comunidade de anestesia veterinária através de sessões de mentoria bimestrais. Os participantes devem identificar um mentor com formação avançada em anestesia. Este mentor pode fazer parte do consultório do participante, pertencer a um grupo empresarial ou possuir uma qualificação reconhecida, como a certificação em Anestesia Avançada ou o Mestrado em Anestesia). Key Learning Objectives:
At the end of this module delegates should be able to:
- List the components of the brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome (BOAS)
- Outline the additional complicating factors of anaesthetising the BOAS patient and demonstrate ways of managing the anaesthetic
- Consider the difficulties in anaesthetising the obese patient and outline techniques to overcome these difficulties
- Describe the reasons why corneal damage may occur during anaesthesia
- Compare and contrast the different techniques for creating a ‘central eye’
- Explain the concepts of neuro-muscular blockade
- Outline the physiological basis of the ‘oculo-cardiac reflex’ and what steps should be taken if it occurs.
- Describe the pathophysiology or patent ductus arteriosus, heart valve stenosis and bradyarrhythmias including 3rd degree AV block and sick sinus syndrome.
- Outline the considerations for anaesthesia for correction of the conditions described in L.O. 2.8

- Outline the principles of spontaneous and intermittent positive pressure ventilation (IPPV).
- Describe the techniques used to evaluate ventilation
- Define the different lung volumes and capacities
- Outline the principles of spirometry
- Identify the different shapes of flow-volume loops and the potential pathologies that they can indicate
- Recognise appropriate candidates for IPPV and be able to set basic and more advanced ventilation settings
- Outline the components of arterial blood gas analysers and describe how they work
- Describe the techniques used for collecting blood gas samples
- Identify the different basic abnormalities in acid base balance and list potential causes
- Describe potential treatments to correct abnormalities in acid-base balance

Se pretender obter a certificação de nível avançado, terá de concluir os quatro módulos interativos online, que são disponibilizados a cada dois meses, e participar em sessões de webinar/clube de leitura online.
Em cada período de dois meses, terá de realizar um trabalho ou uma tarefa prática. Estes farão parte da avaliação formativa e devem ser concluídos para que possa concluir o módulo correspondente.
Tenha em atenção que existe um requisito mínimo obrigatório de participação em, pelo menos, um clube de leitura e um webinar; no entanto, recomenda-se vivamente que participe nos quatro eventos ao vivo para maximizar a aprendizagem.
