Improve Veterinary Education supports training of vets involved in rescue and rehabilitation of Moon Bears
Improve Veterinary Education has supported four junior veterinarians at Animals Asia through offering complimentary training on a Clinical Pathology module, which is part of their wider online Small Animal Medicine flagship postgraduate certificate programme.
The module was selected by the junior vets because it provides comprehensive education in topics such as the clinical pathology of hepatobiliary disease. Animals Asia vets will use this training on a daily basis in their treatment of the moon bears rescued from bile farms across Asia.
Impactful Testimonials from the frontlines of Animals Asia

Huong Pham – Junior Vet Surgeon at Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre
Thai Le – Junior Vet Surgeon at Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre, says:
“The discussion cases in the course are very practical and helpful. It led me to the right ways of diagnosis and the explanation and was very detailed. The part I really enjoyed were the questions and answers, it was such an interactive session. With the help of the course, I now know how to utilise available resources to tackle unpredictable issues that may arise in the practice.”
Charlotte French, Head of Business Development UK & US, said: “Improve Veterinary Education operates all over the world, and it is a wonderful opportunity to extend our training to junior vets in Vietnam who are working hard to improve the welfare and lives of endangered and at-risk species. We are delighted to support Animals Asia in building its veterinary community, as well as supporting its vital work protecting these beautiful animals. It is also particularly pertinent that both Improve and Animals Asia both celebrate their 25th anniversaries this year!’
