Improve International joins Stonewall on the defence of LGBTQIA+ rights
The Improve International Group, recognises the immense value that diversity brings to our team, our courses, and the veterinary community as a whole. That’s why we’re proud to embrace diversity as a core value and integral part of our mission.
We are proud to announce that the Improve International Group will be joining Stonewall. With this partnership, we will introduce Diversity Champions, who are responsible for helping us implement initiatives throughout the company. As Laura Uzzell (one of our Diversity Champions) says, “We are both happy and proud to be joining Stonewall. It’s so important for us that all our team members and the delegates we serve feel free, safe, and motivated to grow professionally.”
Stonewall is a team of bold, passionate people fighting for the freedom, equity, and potential of LGBTQ+ people everywhere, and we invite each one of you to get to know a little more about their work.
Celebrating diversity: A key pillar of veterinary excellence
At the Improve International Group, diversity isn’t just celebrated; it’s embraced as a fundamental aspect of our community. It’s about embracing the rich tapestry of backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and ideas that make each one of us unique. From different cultures and languages to varied life experiences and career paths, we celebrate the diversity of our team members, delegates, and partners as we strive for excellence in veterinary education, recognising the immense value that diversity brings to our profession and our global community.
Our commitment to diversity and inclusion
Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. As leaders in veterinary education, we recognise the importance of diversity in driving innovation, creativity, and excellence in our profession, and we are dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our training, from course development to instructor selection and beyond.
Everyone should feel valued, respected, and included, regardless of their background or identity: We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels safe, supported, and empowered to be their authentic selves.
Diversity in leadership is essential for driving positive change and advancing our profession. We are committed to promoting diversity in leadership roles within our organisation and beyond. We actively seek out and support diverse voices and perspectives in decision-making to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard and valued. We are launching initiatives to promote diversity, including partnering with neuro-diverse training organisations, implementing awareness programmes, and ensuring diverse representation in all aspects of the organisation.
Diversity makes us stronger, more innovative, and more resilient as a community: by embracing our differences and learning from each other, fostering inclusion, and celebrating our differences, we can create a more vibrant, equitable, and inclusive veterinary community for all and for all those we serve.
As we continue our journey of excellence in veterinary education, remember that diversity is not just a buzzword; it’s a cornerstone of our success.
