This one-day short course suits RVNs in either first opinion or referral practice. It will cover the nursing approach to many critical illnesses and how to improve the outcome of these most unstable patients. You will learn and practise AFAST™ and TFAST™.alongside other essential, practical procedures.

This course would also suit delegates working towards a Nurse Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care.

Digital course notes, refreshments, and lunch will be provided.

Delegate numbers will be capped at nine to ensure an immersive experience.

Dyspnoea; including placement of nasal oxygen cannula and the use of thoracic ultrasound (TFAST) to aide stabilisation
Shock and emergency vascular access. Including, placement of central venous catheters
Trauma and acute abdomens. Including, the use of abdominal ultrasound (AFAST) during nursing triage exam
Combining theory relevant to real-world patients and hands-on practical skills, using models and ultrasound of live animals
