Parasitology in Small Animal Practice

01 May 2023 - 31 Oct 2023

Learn a risk-based approach to small animal parasitology

In this Focus 20 online programme, you will learn about our regional canine and feline endemic parasites, the diseases they can cause, and possible exotic parasite encounters due to international travel. We will be taking a risk-based approach to parasite control, environmental contamination and drug resistance associated with parasiticides to help you build a strong foundation of knowledge.

What does this Focus 20 programme include?

Written by a renowned expert in this field, this Focus 20 programme dives deeper into this subject area than any other course. It will enable you to confidently and proactively approach common and new parasites in dogs and cats.

You will also:

  • Consolidate your knowledge of parasite epidemiology and the diseases that parasites cause in dogs and cats

  • Confidently select appropriate diagnostic tests

  • Devise appropriate evidence-based treatment protocols for parasites in line with the patient’s needs, including relevant scientific review

  • Reflect on a treatment plan, discuss the outcome with peers and create an appropriate programme for self-improvement that could be applied in the future

  • Critique personal effectiveness in accurately communicating to peers and clients the factors involved in managing parasite control in dogs and cats
