This two-day course will have a strong practical emphasis. You will have access to your course notes in advance, and to achieve maximum benefit you should ensure you have read them before attending. You will have the opportunity to practise on a Brachycephalic breed, and delegate numbers will be capped to ensure a quality surgical environment.
Digital course notes, refreshments throughout the day, and a buffet lunch will be provided.

Day 1
- Lateral wall resection (LWR) and total ear canal ablation / lateral bulla osteotomy (TECA-LBO)
- Ventral Bulla Osteotomy
- Laryngeal ‘tieback’ - indications, anatomy and risk. Review the practical procedure with an expert.
- Salivary gland removal
- Tracheostomy – temporary
- Lip reconstruction
Day 2
- Assess BOAS animals objectively and consider the emergency patient and 'routine' presentation
- Improve clients understanding of the condition and help them to decide the most appropriate treatment for their pet
- Perform BOAS surgeries, including:
- Nasoplasty
- Palatoplasty
- Alarplasty and alar wing resection
- Tonsillectomy
- Tracheostomy - permanent
