Panel Discussion: Two surgical oncology cases

Join us for a two-part surgical oncology case discussion with soft tissue surgery specialists Kelly Blacklock and Bruce Nwadike.

Through two complex cases from clinical practice, we’ll explore the decision-making behind veterinary surgical oncology, from staging and surgical planning to reconstruction, postoperative care, and client communication.

Designed to reflect the clinical reasoning and practical application that underpins the Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery Certificate Programme, these sessions offer valuable insight into complex case management and specialist-level thinking in practice.

The two cases which will be discussed are:

• Figgy Forget-Me-Not, a five-year-old Labrador with a distal limb mast cell tumour.
• Bongo, a nine-year-old Basset Hound with an aggressive thoracic wall extra-skeletal osteosarcoma.
