TERMS & CONDITIONS FOR COURSE PARTICIPATION

Fredrikstad Dyrehospital AS

These Terms & Conditions apply to registration for and participation in courses organised and/or hosted by Fredrikstad Dyrehospital AS (organisation number 998 920 590), hereinafter referred to as the Provider.

By registering for a course, the participant confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms & Conditions.

    1. Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms & Conditions, the following definitions apply:

  • Provider: Fredrikstad Dyrehospital AS.
  • Course: Any course, workshop, seminar, practical training session, clinical demonstration, or related educational activity organised or hosted by the Provider.
  • Delegate: The individual attending the Course.
  • Customer: The individual or legal entity that registers for and/or pays for the Course.
  • Consumer: A Delegate acting for purposes wholly or mainly outside their trade, business, or profession, in accordance with Norwegian law.

    2. Registration and Participation

  • Registration is binding unless otherwise stated in the course announcement or these Terms & Conditions.
  • Participation may be subject to limited capacity, prerequisite qualifications, or professional requirements.
  • The Provider reserves the right to refuse or terminate participation if course requirements are not met or if the Delegate breaches these Terms & Conditions.
  • Delegates removed due to unsafe, unethical, or inappropriate behaviour are not entitled to a refund.

    3. Course Fees and Payment Obligations

  • Course fees are stated in the course announcement and become binding upon registration.
  • Unless otherwise agreed, the full course fee must be paid prior to course commencement.
  • Late payment may incur interest in accordance with the Norwegian Act Relating to Interest on Overdue Payments, as well as reminder and collection fees permitted by law.
  • Failure to pay may result in denial of participation or termination of the Delegate’s right to attend the Course.

    4. Cancellation and Refunds

Unless otherwise stated in the course announcement, the following cancellation terms apply:

  • Cancellation more than 30 days prior to course start: full refund of the course fee.
  • Cancellation between 30 and 15 days prior to course start: 50% refund of the course fee.
  • Cancellation 15 days or less prior to course start: no refund.

The Delegate may nominate a substitute participant, subject to approval by the Provider and provided that all course requirements are met.

Failure to attend the Course, illness, quarantine, or similar circumstances do not entitle the Delegate to a refund.

    5. Course Changes and Cancellation by Provider

  • The Provider reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the Course content, programme, instructors, venue, or schedule.
  • The Provider may cancel or postpone a Course due to insufficient enrolment or events beyond the Provider’s reasonable control (force majeure).
  • In the event of cancellation, paid course fees will be refunded. The Provider shall not be liable for additional costs incurred by the Delegate, including travel or accommodation expenses.

    6. Practical and Clinical Training

For Courses involving practical instruction, clinical demonstrations, or the use of live animals:

  • Delegates must comply with all instructions given by instructors or staff at all times.
  • Applicable laws, ethical guidelines, health and safety regulations, and animal welfare requirements must be strictly adhered to.
  • Delegates confirm that they hold adequate personal, professional, and liability insurance relevant to their participation in practical or clinical training.
  • Breaches may result in immediate removal from the Course without entitlement to a refund.

    7. Liability

  • Participation in the Course is at the Delegate’s own risk.
  • The Provider’s total liability is limited to the course fee paid by or on behalf of the Delegate, unless otherwise required by mandatory law.
  • This limitation does not apply in cases of wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

    8. Intellectual Property and Recording

  • All Course materials, including presentations, handouts, images, videos, and other content, are the intellectual property of the Provider and/or its licensors and are protected by copyright law.
  • Audio recording, video recording, filming, photographing, screen capture, or any other reproduction of Course content is strictly prohibited without the Provider’s prior written consent.
  • Course materials may not be copied, shared, distributed, or used for commercial purposes without express permission.

    9. Confidentiality

  • Any non-public information disclosed during the Course, including clinical cases, patient data, and professional discussions, shall be treated as confidential and not disclosed to third parties.

    10. Personal Data and Communication

  • Personal data is processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • Personal data is used for course administration, communication, documentation, and, where applicable, certification or accreditation.
  • Necessary personal data may be shared with certification bodies, accreditation partners, instructors, or service providers where required for Course completion.
  • Course-related communication will primarily be conducted via email. Marketing communication will only be sent where permitted by law or where separate consent has been provided.

    11. Accuracy of Registration Information

  • The Customer and/or Delegate is responsible for ensuring that all registration information provided is accurate and complete.
  • Any changes to contact details, employer, or other relevant information must be communicated promptly in writing.
  • The Provider is not responsible for consequences arising from incorrect or outdated information supplied by the Customer or Delegate.

    12. Consumers – Right of Withdrawal

Where the Delegate acts as a Consumer and the registration is completed online or outside the Provider’s business premises, the Delegate has a right of withdrawal in accordance with the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act.

The right of withdrawal expires if the Course commences within the withdrawal period and the Consumer has expressly consented to this.

    13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with Norwegian law.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Norwegian courts.
